Garfield District Community Farm Opportunity

We live in downtown Phoenix. Our neighborhood is part of the Neighborhood Revitalization Project for the City of Phoenix. Our landlord has offered us a plot of land in the neighborhood to develop a community garden. I love community gardens! They bring people together, building community and knowledge while providing education, enrichment and sustenance. The neighborhood demographic shifts dramatically at our property line. Across the street are lower income apartments and directly next door are 3-story, quarter million dollar condos. Then there's us, on a quarter acre plot raising chickens, milking goats, rescuing animals and practicing organic farming. I am working to provide a garden where there was less 'yours and mine', and more 'ours', for this community.
